An Iconic Hovis Bread Logo on the sidewall of this now closed Village Shop and Post Office. The Post Box is still in-service. 

The walls of this building like all other original buildings in the area are constructed with local Westmorland Slate and like many of the field walls is of a dry stone construction (i.e. no cement).

    • True…no cement. Many of the local homes and farm buildings plus field walls go back over hundreds of years so have stood the test of time. The stone is stacked together like a jigsaw.
