A touch of Spring

Some sunshine and blue sky does rather suggest that Spring is on the way.

But may be there will be more snow than snowdrops!..

Images from just a little further north show snow and frosts and the Met Office state very positively that tonight will be the coldest of this winter.  So I guess we will just have to wait and see what develops in the heavens.

  1. Is your first image a crocus? The leaves look like the ones we have here, but the flower’s petals are quite different. I suspect that ours won’t appear for another month or so. Lucky you!

    • It is a crocus (cannot tell you the variety)…the sun has caused the flower head to open out so the petals are almost flat. More normally they have the upward and inward curl to them a style these reverted to once the sun departed!

But spring is very odd and varied this season the flowering rota doesn’t seem to going to the master plan.
