We are on a Promise……

Geranium Steps

( A reflection of a REAL summers day )

Rather doubtful but we are promised some sunshine and warm summer weather today, the last day of June…a brief gap between fronts we are told so best keep the Goretex handy.

A Summer Meadow….

It will soon be no more….

The flower meadows are either at there very best, or in some cases now slipping away for another year.  They will set their seed to re-appear next summer.  If the weather is dry and favourable the meadows will be cut for another bumper crop of hay….I guess with all that rich herbage it will be a batch of hay much sought after.

So sad to see it go… but at least it will not be wasted

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge – Week 26

The Old Beech Tree

Summer, yet  the depth and colour of last autumns fallen Beech leaves remains.

What is also fascinating is just how such a big tree as this mature Beech manages to find secure rooting on this rocky outcrop.  I guess as it has stood solid for several hundred years that those tentacles of roots do dig deep into the ground.

I have been inspired to post this image following several postings of several great images by fellow blogger Charly Senall.  It is well worth a look at Charly’s work on his blog at :- https://charlysenall.wordpress.com/2016/06/26/photography-160626/

This image is submitted for this weeks Odd Ball Photo Challenge :- https://ceenphotography.com/2016/06/26/cees-odd-ball-photo-challenge-2016-week-26/
