Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Trees

Autumn-Mists bw

It is nearly the close of August and whilst we in the UK  are currently basking in a mini heatwave, we know that September will soon be on us….then the first signs of autumn will follow and with it those early morning mists through the trees….I guess something to look forward to!

This is my submission to this weeks Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Trees.

Hot and Dry…..

Some welcome shade in Big Wood

Temperatures of 31c is very hot for us…. so the woods were just the place for the morning walkies both for the dogs and us humans. But with no breeze it was still just a trifle uncomfortable

But August is nearly at a close and by now the greens are usually much darker and the bracken starting to turn to yellow.  Perhaps because this year has been a roller coaster of a years, swing from dry to wet, but overall warm right from the start that the colours and energy still seems to be in all the woodland foliage….

Leave the shade of the wood behind and the sun reaped its vengeance once again…

Nor was there any cool beside the river where most of this summer’s wildflowers  have lost their annual battle for life, now casting seeds onto the waters to be dispersed along its course ultimately to the sea…
