It is Being Kind…….

Morning Sunshine, Allestree Lake, Derbyshire.

It is being Kind…..that was the comment used by someone who I meet regularly on the morning walkies with Buster.  She was referring to the slow transition of the weather between summer and autumn. Kind is a good description as so far we have had no extremes and it has been a very gentle slide into the colours of autumn….

Whilst the overall colour scheme is green, particularly in the woodlands were many leaves are still sporting a spring green, you cannot deny that this slow slide into autumn yellow, golds, reds and browns has begun.

None of us are sure just how long this slow goodbye to summer will last….and whilst we can enjoy the moment….we hope that we will not miss a perfect autumn.

  1. Thank you for these beautiful photos. It looks very kind to me. Just what I need as I am a wee bit down this week. It’ll pass. Also thanks to your photos. 😉

    • It has been a strange week….I know a few folk who have been feeling down, for no apparent reason, and finding it hard to shake off.
Nor can our spell good be blamed….someone did say it was post Brexit blues

  2. I wish you a continuing gentle transition. We are experiencing similar changes here in Omaha, with Indian summer conditions on the near horizon. I do love this time of the year!

    • I find what has been so exciting about this years weather is that once we lost the worst of the winter floods and winds the spring, summer and early autumn is in reality the lack of excitement….just this smooth transition through the seasons with no drama . It has to change at some point
