Cees Odd Ball Photo Challenge – Week 44

Built to Last….

This Post Box has certainly lasted.  The Royal Crest on its  door is that of Queen Victoria.  This one is also unusual as it has six sides, just one of many different styles that have been adopted by the Royal Mail over the centuries. The Royal Mail is perhaps one of the oldest companies in the UK being founded way  back in1516.

I cannot help but grab a shot of the many old / none standard boxes that are still in daily use across the country….always a little bit of history, which I hope despite emails, will never disappear.

Just another idea for Cees Fun Photo Challenge…take a look at what others have suggested on this link :-

    • That Post Box was created in the age when even basic “street furniture” and Public Buildings had creative design flair…. even though they were utilitarian items, but also built to last.
