COCKERHAM-26.-10

Sunset at The Lune Light, Morecambe Bay

Morecambe Bay, Lancashire is one of the worlds most valuable Wildfowl and Wader habitats…..it is an immense area of water and is feed by the estuaries of the Rivers Wyre, Lune, Kent and Leven.  Twice a day the tide recedes over the horizon exposing large areas of mud flats and sandbanks only to be covered again 12 hours later.

A real Delta of many rivers and one of my Favourite Places.

Just an idea for this weeks DP Photo Challenge.

A lone Mute Swan in the Rain

Well they said it was going to rain…and it has.  The first drop of the wet stuff for a little while, they say the gardens need it and perhaps they do, but after the mini heatwave it does come as a bit of a disappointment and a shock to the system.

So far it has not been the heavy downpours that the Weather Warnings were indicating, but listening to the midday news I guess others have not be so lucky

From the Depths……

-Lotus-Flower

Lotus Flower…

Always a miracle…when the waters part and a Lilly pops its head up and slowly unfurls into a magical flower head.

Another sign that the seasons are moving along.

( a have to sadly admit that this Lotus Flower is not in our garden)

The Weather is to change….

CORNWALL

 The Harbour, Mevagissey, Cornwall

Our mini heatwave is coming to an end or so we are told.  So for a few days we are in for a wet spell, likely to be very heavy rains.

It is hoped that by the beginning of next week summer will return and with it lots of sunshine….. just like that over Mevagissey above. Memories 🙂
