DP Weekly Photo Challenge – Structure

Shadows-on-the-Wall

Shadows on the Wall…..

Built I guess in the 1700’s this is a tribute to the bricklayers craft that it is still very much intact.  Wooden beam over the lower doorway, uneven steps whilst flaking paintwork on the upper door and shutters add to the detail of the structure…even the shadows from a late evening sun add another dimension.

Just my take on this weeks DP Photo Challenge – Structure….I hope you like

Green all over…….

Ferns

A Fern Bridge

It has been a great year for the Ferns, wet at times, warm at others….and if there is somewhere for a Fern to get a root it will have  made the most of the opportunity.

It is also the last day of August so I guess it will not be long before the rich green fronds will start to turn as autumn approaches.  Meteorologists reckon that in their time table autumn starts tomorrow…  but the Autumnal Equinox isn’t till 22nd September.

Still plenty of time to enjoy late summer.
