Hathersage Moor, Derbyshire
Mother Cap, a gritstone Tor on Hathersage Moor catching some late afternoon sun. When I took this shot a couple of years ago there was just a sprinkling of snow. I can assure you that my memory is nor playing tricks … but it is not that many years ago that in January you could predict a thick covering of snow over these moors.
I am pretty sure we will still get some snow before the winter is out but its arrival seems to get later each year and come in short sharp bursts. Things have changed.
