Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge – Glass

Look in any window….

Shop windows always grab my attention…well they do when the shop keeper makes an effort to create a display of interest.

So this is my suggestion for this week Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge

CEES B&W Photo Challenge…. Sculptures, Carvings and the like!

The MacMillan Cross, Kilmory

I thought that these carved Celtic stones would give a different slant to this weeks challenge. The large MacMillan Cross is the largest in this collection that has been assembled here in Kilmory Knap Church.  The Church dates back to 13th century and the Cross to 15th century.

All the stones that make up this collection have come from the surrounding area, some pre date the Church, all are skilfully carved and now thankfully protected in this Church which itself is a protected building.

Kilmory Knap Church can be found on the Knapdale Peninsula, Argyll, Scotland

Just a suggestion for this weeks Cee’s B&W Challenge.

Cees Black & White Photo Challenge – Animals

The Town Musicians of Bremen

Cees Challenge this week is Animals…any animal except birds…so I have cheated – but I don’t think a Cockerel realy is a bird.

This is a fabulous statue in the Town Square of Bremen, Germany.  The animals (or should I say musicians!) can all be found in the Fairy Tales by the Brothers Grimm.  It is an old story dating back to 1819 and if you are not familiar with it I suggest a visit to Wikipedia and you will discover all the details you will need about this great little story.

Anyway cheating or not…it is my submission for Cees B&W Photo Challenge.  You can see what others have submitted on this link:-
