Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Shadows

I just love shadows…they can be harsh or soft, whatever they do they add a dimension to a one dimensional image.

In situations like above the harsh shadows and the shaft on sunlight all act as a spotlight on these ancient Scottish Grave Markers at Kilmartin and the engravings.

Shadows can be the subject of the image…

or simply add a little drama…

and if you shoot directly into the sun it is definitely the shadows that create the image by creating silhouettes…

In addition to adding a little drama, Shadows can also be used to emphasis scale…

Give me a little sunshine and we will have shadows, life would be dull without them..

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Shiny

Mirror Like

Water, Water in the pool and who’s the shiniest of us all ?

Mirror like reflection off the still waters of the harbour add extra shine to what was a sunny morning.

The subject for this weeks Fun Foto Challenge is Shine. So here are several more items that illustrate shine.

Shiny Copper Pots are one…. whilst a well polished Floor is yet another…

But for a real shine we have this Tear Drop (or may be a Rain Drop)….it is a Installation, part of a Sculpture Show at Chatsworth House…. and is the work of the Artist Richard Hudson…

Richard Hudson...
