Lens Artist Challenge #32 ….. Shadows

Silhouette or Shadows

Tina has nominated the topic for this week as Shadows.  I guess many of us use shadows to make our pictures without too much thought, not singling shadows out as the main element… but it is the part of the image that gives it shape and dimension.  Some times the shadow is the image and the highlights secondary. From Silhouette or maybe a spotlight to creating a solid backdrop, we would be all the poorer for not having shadows in our photographic life

Lens- Artist Challenge…. 28 Curves

A Curvaceous Spring Filled Arbour

Life as we all know is rarely straightforward … there are twists and turns everywhere.  The same applies to the built and natural environment, those twists and turns are all about us.

So just for fun here is an eclectic mix of CURVES in everyday life. Just my suggestion for Tina’s Challenge for this week.  The link to her blog is below.

Lens – Artists Challenge # Seasonal

I have selected only one image with which to illustrate Lens-Artists Challenge #24 – SEASONAL.

Why only one image.  Well today is the 16th of December, nearly the winter solstice.  Up until a very few years ago by this time in December snow would have made not just an appearance but made us very aware of its presence. The above image was take some 4 years ago (it is in colour not monotone) and the very last occasion of snow in early December.

I guess with the recent Global Conference on Climate Change and its warnings you could perhaps say those changes are very much with us. Certainly none of our seasons, in this small part of the UK have followed the usual seasonal character’s or patterns.

So have some more fun and pop along to this link to see what others have suggested for this weeks challenge:-

Lens Artist Photo Challenge – Everyday Moments

Two Ice Creams Please….

A hot Sunday in a busy Copenhagen, Denmark. A memory from two years ago and still fresh in the mind.

As is an equally hot Monday on the waterfront in the Hanseatic Quarter of Bergen, Norway, where a liquid refreshment was called for.

Two suggestions for the Lens Artist Challenge
