The Ultimate in Recycling…..

Recycled-cottages

I can never resist these old Fisherman’s shacks….no doubt they have seen many centuries come and go, beaten by winters weathers and snow, bleached by summers sun.  They may have crumbled at times but always someone comes and patches them up.  Onetime they would have had a heather thatch roof, then corrugated iron, now miraculously held together by rust. Doors have been replaced but the stone walls remain solid.

I stated these were fisherman’s shacks but  at some point in there history no doubt crofters have pressed them into use.

Location:- Corran at Arnisdale, Loch Hourn, Knoydart, North West Scotland

Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – Anticipation

Storm Pending

The Torridons, North West Highlands of Scotland

There is probably nothing that is anticipated more than changes to the weather. Some time in hope of a change for the better. Often, as above, with some trepidation that worse is to come.

My suggestion for the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – Anticipation

Moody Monday…….Far Horizons

Disc One

Big Skies and Far Horizons……

…..and an ever present ‘breeze’ !

A  rocky headland just south of Scourie at Stac a’ Mhill Dheirg.  Wild but great views across looking south to Quinag and the mountain massives of Assynt in the Northwest Scottish Highlands.

On a moody day it is just magnificent, wild yet at the same time spiritually moving.
